Robert Myers is in new kitchen
Central Kentuckians who have followed chef Robert Myers from his little three-table spot in Winchester to country clubs and cafés can catch up with him at A.P. Roots, 355 Romany Road.
Roots is a new venture from the owners of A.P. Suggins — Jackson McReynolds, Brad Scott and David Ravencraft.
“We came up with our name for several reasons,” McReynolds said. “First, the location was originally a grocery store called F. Dee Roots. Second, we were starting the restaurant in the same neighborhood as A.P. Suggins, and third and most important is that the best and freshest food comes locally (your roots).
“Our family-friendly restaurant tries to utilize as many Kentucky products as we can get our hands on. Not only are they from Kentucky but most are also organic.”
Myers is noted for his sourdough bread and pappardelle noodles, and the menu includes homemade soups and desserts.
Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Call (859) 367-6687.

I can’t wait to get to Lexington to try it! I love Suggins. With all the talk of fresh, local ingredients this should prove to be even better!
I’m wondering about a place i tried when I last visited….TROPIKAL MIX. it is run by colombians- please reveiw! I loved it and would go back to KY for their Arepas!!!
yum!
We enjoyed a delicious dinner at A.P. Roots last evening! What a welcoming and pleasant addition to the neighborhood! The menu is very appealing – not the same tired items found everywhere – and our service was prompt with just the right amount of attentive care. I’m going back for lunch next week and highly recommend it to others.
I love Roots! The chef brings his wonderful bread in to Good Foods, often gifting us lowly employees with the freshly baked bread.
A great menu with many local ingredients and what a value!!
Just went today for the first time and it was delicious! Fresh ingredients, good service. Highly recommend.
